Procell Microchanneling Facial Treatment
Procell Microchanneling Facial Treatment
What is a Procell Microchanneling Facial Treatment?
Microneedling is a popular non-invasive rejuvenation treatment for anti-aging, dry skin, acne scars, stretch marks, sun spots, and visible pores1. But guests at The Spa should also consider Procell™ Microchanneling—an advanced, less abrasive alternative available exclusively at WorldSprings Spa. This non-invasive treatment delivers powerful results with minimal downtime, making it a gentler yet highly effective option for skin renewal and overall complexion improvement.
How it Works
The Procell Microchanneling Facial Treatment enhances cellular activity by creating thousands of microchannels — or micro-injections2 — in the skin with a specialized stamp-like device equipped with fine, vibrating needles, creating precise, tiny channels in the skin. Each channel prompts an inflammatory response from your body's immune system, initiating collagen formation in the skin.
While creating the channels, the needles inject solutions into the skin that help treat different conditions. For example, Procell's Microchannel Delivery Serum contains bone marrow-derived growth factors and hyaluronic acid (elements that occur naturally in the human body). The serums do not contain DNA, blood or animal, plant, and human cells. The product has been used safely and effectively for over a decade3.
Applying anti-aging products directly into the skin allows them to be absorbed effectively. "Every time the needle goes into the skin, some solution goes into those mini channels," Dr. Vu Ho, a Plano, Texas-based facial plastic surgeon, explained to RealSelf2. "It's efficient and evenly done. The channels are smaller than human hair, so there's minimal trauma."
Furthermore, Ho said, the benefits can build up over weeks and months as the body creates more collagen in the skin. "Even a single treatment a day or more before an important event will give wonderful results."
Over time, this repeated healing process—amplified by Procell's growth factor serums derived from stem cells—can improve skin texture and overall appearance, treating everything from the appearance of everyday fine lines and wrinkles to hyperpigmentation, acne scarring, stretch marks, and rosacea3. Licensed estheticians and medical professionals (registered nurses, nurse practitioners, and medical doctors4) administer the treatment.
Needles vs. Channels
Microneedling and microchanneling sound very similar; however, there are key differences. While microneedling treatments use specialized microneedling pens or derma rollers, microchanneling uses a distinct stamp-like device. The stamp-like device ensures controlled formation, so there are fewer chances of skin damage and discomfort compared to traditional rollers1. Unlike the microneedles, the stamps do not cause skin tearing or dragging, minimizing discomfort. At the same time, the treatment is quicker than microneedling due to wider tips covering more surface area.
In contrast, microneedling creates irregular and angled channels, making it a more abrasive procedure with downtime lasting five to seven days.
Plastic surgeon Steven Cohen, founder and owner of FACES+ in San Diego, told PopSugar that while microchanneling is similar to microneedling, the needles are smaller and penetrate less deeply into the skin. The needles are dipped in hyaluronic acid and regenerative medicine-derived ingredients5.
The Benefits
With minimal physical discomfort, most clients can do the procedure without numbing cream and don't experience noticeable pain3. There is no lingering discomfort, and spa professionals know how to minimize discomfort during treatment. Following the procedure, most people report a "tight" feeling in their skin.
Dr. Ho recommends microchanneling for a quick skin refresher. "The benefits of microchanneling include immediately smoother, more healthy-appearing skin via improved texture, tone, and hydration," he said2. "It's great for overall skin refreshing but best at addressing textural issues."
The Procell Microchanneling Facial Treatment can help improve common skin issues like acne scars2, surgical scars, stretch marks, fine lines and wrinkles, uneven skin tone and texture, enlarged pores, rosacea, dull complexion and skin laxity (also known as loose skin)4.
An ideal candidate for microchanneling is someone experiencing premature aging, sun damage, enlarged pores, mild to moderate wrinkles around the eyes, and acne scarring, New York City-based dermatologist Dr. Michele Green told RealSelf2.
Perhaps most importantly, the treatment is safe for all skin types and tones. Book your facial today.
